Netflix Producing Clash of Clans Animated Series
The premise sounds intriguing: we’ll follow a Barbarian who, despite being a bit out of his depth, has to rally a motley crew of characters to defend their village. Get ready for some hilariously absurd takes on the politics of war, all set within the familiar, vibrant universe of the Clash games.

Behind the scenes, the series is in capable hands. Fletcher Moules will serve as showrunner. You might recognize his name if you’ve seen the highly popular “Clash of Clans” animated videos on YouTube, which have collectively racked up hundreds of millions of views. Joining him is Ron Weiner, a seasoned writer from acclaimed shows like “Arrested Development” and “Futurama,” who will be the head writer. The animation itself will be crafted by ICON Creative Studio.
It’s no surprise that Netflix is tapping into the Clash universe. “Clash of Clans” launched way back in 2012, with “Clash Royale” following in 2016, and both have remained incredibly popular. Together, they boast over four billion downloads and an astonishing 180 billion hours of gameplay! That’s a massive built-in audience ready to tune in.
This new series is just one more example of Netflix’s continued investment in animation. The streamer recently announced “Mating Season,” an adult animated comedy from the creators of “Big Mouth” (which is heading into its final season). Plus, don’t forget about “Long Story Short” from the “BoJack Horseman” team, starring talents like Abbi Jacobson, Max Greenfield, and Nicole Byer, set to hit Netflix on August 22nd.
