Sehwag quiere cavar en KKR y Ranna, decir que pueden aprender de PRS’s LSG & CSK

Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag launched a no-holds barred attack on KKR over their batting order in IPL 2025. The defending champions failed to qualify for the playoffs and finished the season at the 8th position with 12 points to their name. Sehwag slammed Rahane and co. for being fixated with their batting order, pointing out that they could have taken inspiration from other teams.

Sehwag’s jibe at Rahane-led KKR

Speaking on Cricbuzz, Sehwag hit out at KKR’s strategy of sending the captain out to bat before the big hitters. Citing the case of LSG, the ex-Indian cricketer pointed out how Rishabh Pant had sent other big-hitters ahead of him knowing that he was out of form.

“It is not written anywhere that a captain has to bat in the top three. Look at Pant, he was sending players ahead of him, because they were in form and LSG took advantage of that,” Sehwag said.

Sehwag claimed that it was the team management and the coaching staff’s fault for failing to do so. He also went on to cite CSK’s example, noting that sending the likes of Shivam Dube and Dewald Brewis up the order had changed the course of the matches for them.

“KKR could have done the same. This was the team management and the coaching staff’s responsibility. See, even CSK did it against GT. Shivam Dube and Dewald Brevis came up the order, they changed that up from the recent matches,” Sehwag said.

KKR captain Ajinkya Rahane said that the batters had taken undue pressure on themselves through the season.

“Where we faltered slightly was at the batting end. As a batting unit, collectively, we couldn’t do well. I thought bowlers did well throughout the season,” Rahane said.
