Shreyas Iyer fue el primer capitán en 11 años, quien tomó las PBK de IPL, pero desafortunadamente perdió.
Just spare a thought for PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer. Throughout the IPL 2025, the man did everything in his capacity, to bring PBKS close to their first title. But it was not to be. While everyone got busy with Virat Kohli and his first title, here’s a player, who won the IPL trophy last time with KKR, was let go by the team, came to Punjab and took them to the final after 11 years.
Shreyas Iyer & PBKS Still Not Done
That is some effort. After the match, an emotional Shreyas Iyer said that the job was only half done and his team would come back to win the title next year. “Yes, absolutely dejected, to be honest,” the captain said after the game. “But the way the boys stepped up on the big occasions was commendable. Credit to the entire management, support staff, and every individual who contributed to this journey. The owners too, they were incredible with their support throughout.”
Early Warning Signs for IPL 2026
He insisted, that the youngsters in the team stepped up and played fearless cricket. “The job is still half done. We want to win the trophy next year. There are plenty of positives. So many youngsters made their debut this season, and the fearless cricket they played was simply amazing. They’ve gained invaluable experience and I’m sure next year, they’ll come back stronger and more confident.”
“We played some decent cricket this season. We had ups and downs, but the group stayed together and showed tremendous fight. This isn’t the end – we’ll be back.” It is important to note that Shreyas Iyer is one of the more successful captains in the IPL, having won led his team to finals, thrice.
