Arya attempted to play a big shot off the last delivery of the 5th over. Salt, who was fielding near the boundary, managed to pull the ball back in to complete a catch, similar to how Suryakumar Yadav had done so for India in the T20 World Cup.

Arshdeep Singh bagged three wickets in the final over while Kyle Jamieson scalped three wickets for 48 runs. Earlier, Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bowl first. Both teams went unchanged with Tim David missing out for RCB with an injury.
