South African youngster Lhuan-dre Pretorius is a left-handed wicketkeeper batter who joined the Rajasthan Royals (RR) camp in IPL 2025 as a replacement for the injured Nitish Rana. Pretorius was named in one of the options as impact substitute during the CSK vs RR IPL 2025 match being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The Southpaw might get a chance to show his skills in the second half of the match.
Who is Lhuan-dre Pretorius?
Pretorius is just 19 years old and has been in the limelight in South African domestic cricket. The wicketkeeper-batter finished as the leading run-scorer for South Africa U19 at the last concluded Under-19 Cricket World Cup, scoring 287 runs in six matches at an average of 57.40.
Pretorius also had a good time in the 2025 SA20 league, where he made a remarkable debut for Paarl Royals, smashing 97 runs off 51 balls against Sunrisers Eastern Cape. Thanks to his antics, RR signed Lhuan-dre Pretorius for Rs 30 lakhs. His aggressive batting style and ability to take on bowlers from the start make him an exciting prospect for the franchise
