Nair can’t be snubbed from India’s XI, period

Coming into bat at the 7th over, Karun has been an unstoabble force so far in the contest. He breached the 200-run mark off 272 deliveries, proving be one one of the best middle-order options for India. It is pertinent to point out that Shubman Gill and co. need Nair in the playing XI simply because he is one of the most experienced players in the red-ball format in the absence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Besides, he has used his County Championship experience effectively to cement his spot in the side for the upcoming Test series against Engalnd.

Nair’s display of soid technique along with his ability to score runs unpertubed makes him the apt choice to replace Virat at number 4. Given Karun’s form, he is in apt position to occupy the void created by Kohli’s departure. India will take on England in the 1st Test at Leeds starting from June 20.
