Antes de dar 2 overs contra LSG, Nitish Red Shaded puede fecha 5 de febrero.
Good signs for the India cricket team. Nitish Kumar Reddy has resumed bowling before the England Test tour. The all-rounder had suffered a side strain injury in January and was ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy. He spent more than a month at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru and was allowed to play for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.
Nitish Reddy bowls after 5 months
For more than 2 months, Nitish Reddy played but also as a batter. SRH played 11 matches, but not once did the all-rounder bowl. This wasn’t great. Especially when you consider that India has a 5-match Test series against England. If Nitish couldn’t deliver a couple of a T20 match, could he bowl a spell with the red ball?
One can’t forget that the last time Nitish bowled was on January 5 in Sydney. He hadn’t rolled his arm over for 5 months. Well, Team India can breathe a sigh of relief now. Against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), Nitish bowled 2 overs and even got a wicket.
Good sign before India vs England Tests
Nitish wasn’t economical, but that doesn’t matter at all. He finally bowled and looked comfortable. That’s a big plus. You can’t purely play him as a batter at number eight if he isn’t bowling at all. His place will be in doubt, and given how well he batted in Australia, you would at least want him in the squad.
The all-rounder doesn’t have any experience of playing in England. So the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to send Nitish as part of the India A squad against the England Lions. Now that he’s fit to bowl, we can use how he performs, both with bat and ball.
