Antes de que el último mundo saluda contra Australia, Kagumo Rabada habló sobre los medios de comunicación debido a su uso de drogas
South Africa cricket team pacer Kagiso Rabada regrets the use of drugs that saw him being suspended briefly. The pacer, who returned home mid-way through IPL 2025, tested positive for a banned substance. Rabada did return to the IPL after the end of his suspension and is all set to be a part of the South African team that’ll take on Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final.
Rabada sorry but no too sorry
In an interaction with the media in London, Rabada said that he was sorry for the use of the recreational drug but said that he will never be “Mr I Apologise.” He hinted that his decision to return home from the IPL and admitting the offence led to the entire process being smooth and is believed to have paved way for a lenient sentence instead.
“As you would have seen in my statement there are some people who would have been disappointed. And to those people I’m deeply sorry. The people closest to me are the ones I felt I let down. But life moves on. I’ll never be ‘Mr-I-Apologise’ too much. But I’ll never condone that action,” Rabada said.
The pacer’s statement after he was found guilty
“As has been reported, I recently returned to South Africa from participating in the IPL for personal reasons. This was due to my returning an adverse analytical finding for the use of a recreational drug.”
“I am deeply sorry to all those that I have let down. I will never take the privilege of playing cricket for granted. This privilege is much larger than me. It goes beyond my personal aspirations. I am serving a provisional suspension, and I am looking forward to returning to the game I love playing.
“I couldn’t have gone through this alone. I’d like to thank my agent, CSA, and Gujarat Titans for their support. I’d also like to thank SACA and my legal team for their guidance and counsel. Most importantly, I’d like to thank my friends and family for their understanding and love.
“Moving forward, this moment will not define me. I will keep doing what I have always done, continuously working hard and playing with passion and devotion to my craft,” Rabada said in a statement issued by the South African Cricketers’ Association.
