Mayank Yadav tomó su último deporte de 30, 2024 y no ha jugado una tela de competencia a partir del 12 de octubre.
Mayank Yadav is back! The express pacer had taken the world by storm in the last Indian Premier League (IPL) season. He threw 156 km/h rockets for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and impressed everyone with his consistency. Unfortunately, after delivering just 73 balls, his season was derailed by an injury.
Mayank Yadav back in action after 7 months
Off the back of his IPL 2024 season, he received his T20I debut cap for the India cricket team. Just as he was hitting his stride, Mayank got injured once again. He sustained a lumbar stress injury in October 2024 and has been out of action since. During his rehabilitation at the Centre of Excellence, Mayank suffered a toe injury as well.
He was expected to be fit by April 15 and got the clearance to play on April 19 against Rajasthan Royals. But LSG decided not to play him. Then came the Delhi Capitals game, and Mayank didn’t play again. Finally, against the Mumbai Indians (MI), LSG captain Rishabh Pant decided to bring Mayank in.
“We are bowling first. In a day game you want to utilise the surface. We are in a good space, and personally, it’s easier to put the team ahead; it makes it easier. Eventually you want to play good cricket and take every day as your first day. One change. Shardul is out and Mayank Yadav is in,” Pant said at the toss.
