Starc adjunta solo 9 años hasta el final, recoge los 3s vs el primero.
Mitchell Starc’s revenge game against the Kolkata Knight Riders did not have the desired start for the Australian pacer. However, the left arm pacer redeemed himself with another 20th over masterclass. Starc conceded just 9, with KKR losing three wickets to halt their late overs charges.
Powerplay blues for Starc as KKR hammer ex-speedster
Released despite starring in the IPL 2024 playoffs, Starc had a point to prove against his former employers. However, the left-arm seamer was thrashed around on a batting paradise at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Tuesday. KKR openers Sunil Narine and Rahmanullah Gurbaz went particularly hard in the powerplay. Gurbaz picked up a couple of boundaries in Starc’s first over.
Gurbaz followed it up with two boundaries and six in Starc’s second to continue KKR’s dream start. However, the Australian pace ace responded in style, getting an outside to get the Afghan wicket keeper’s wicket.
Axar Patel surprisingly persisted with the left-armer for a third in the powerplay. Rahane picked up a six and a boundary as Starc continued leaking runs against his former team. His first spell had a disappointing read: 3-0-35-1.
Starc cleans up tail
Starc however showcased his quality at the backend of the innings. Bowling the final over of the DC vs KRR 1st innings, the veteran nailed his lengths to perfection. Andre Russell smacked the left-armer for a six off the first ball to set the tone. However, Starc responded by bwoling full and straight to first get Rovman Powell LBW. Anukul Roy was also dismissed first ball with Dushmantha Chameera taking a fine catch. Russell, desperate to get on strike was run out as KKR lost 3 wickets in 3 deliveries. Starc conceded just 9 despite getting hit for a six. He finished with figures of 3/43 as KKR piled on 204/9.
