INDIA JEG GAMAM GAMAM GAMAM GAMAR GAMAR dice que no hay necesidad de un cricket jugado con Pakistán

India cricket team head coach Gautam Gambhir has categorically stated that the Men in Blue should not play against Pakistan at any stage. His remarks come after the Pahalgam terror attack that saw 26 tourists being killed by terrorists. Gambhir, who has maintained a similar stance in the past, once again reiterated that India should not play against Pakistan unless the latter puts an end to terrorism.

“No cricket match is more important than nation”

Speaking at the ABP conclave, Gambhir stated that he personally feels that India should not play cricket with Pakistan, including at ICC events. The India head coach pointed out that no sport, cinema or any other event was bigger than the nation. When asked about chances of India facing Pakistan at the T20 World Cup and Asia Cup, Gambhir said that it would be the government who will decide if India should play against their arch-rivals.

Personal answer to this is absolutely no. Ultimately, this is government’s decision and they will decide if we play Pakistan or not. I have said this before – no cricket match, Bollywood movie, artist or anything is more important than the lives of the people of India,” Gambhir said.

India-Pakistan cricketing ties

India and Pakistan have not played any bilateral series since 2008. The Men in Blue last traveled to Pakistan in 2008 following which geopolitical tensions between the two countries has forced the former to boycott cricket in the latter. The two sides have only met at ICC events since then.

Recently, a hybrid model was adopted for Champions Trophy 2025 which was hosted by Pakistan. All of India’s matches, including the final, were held at a neutral venue (Dubai) after India refused to travel to Pakistan.

In response, Pakistan has also refused to send their women’s cricket team to India for the ODI World Cup later this year.

Following the Pahalgam terror attack, it remains to be seen if India will boycott Pakistan altogether, even at ICC events.
