Con un gambir desde la señora, el grupo sin duda ausente, ya que hay directrices como RA.
As Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) gear up for their crucial Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 clash against Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, pacer Harshit Rana has openly expressed how much the defending champions miss their former mentor, Gautam Gambhir.
Rana, who thrived under Gambhir’s leadership during KKR’s victorious IPL 2024 campaign, played a pivotal role in their title-winning run by scalping 19 wickets. His exceptional performances saw him rise to prominence as one of India’s most promising pace talents. A year later, Rana credits Gambhir’s invaluable mentorship for shaping his growth, which has since led to his India debut across all three formats.
Asked if KKR missed Gambhir, Harshit said diplomatically, “I won’t say that because the composition of our support staff is basically the same (from last year). (Abhishek) Nayar Bhai has also come back. Chandu Sir, (Dwayne) Bravo are all good. But yes, there is this thrill factor which I miss a little. I am not talking about anyone else.”
Rana then added, “You also know that Gambhir has an aura, the way he comes and takes the team along. I was just talking about that.”
With Gambhir no longer in the KKR dugout, the team undoubtedly feels his absence, as his guidance played a significant role in unlocking the potential of young talents like Rana. As KKR looks to defend their crown, they will hope that the foundation laid by Gambhir continues to inspire their players in the crucial matches ahead.
