South Africa cricket team captain Temba Bavuma confirmed that Australia attempted to sledge the, using the chokers tag on ay 3 of the WTC final. South Africa found themselves in an extremely comfortable position on Day 4 of the WTC final. Aiden Markram’s hundred and Temba Bavuma’s half-century on Day 3 put the Proteas in the driver’s seat in the run-chase. At the start of play, SA needed just 69 runs to win the Test.

Bavuma (66) was the first to depart on Day 4 as Pat Cummins drew the first blood. Stubbs was the next to depart after he was castled by Mitchell Starc. SA’s WTC final hero Markram (136) attempted to stay till the end to finish off the game for the Proteas but was forced to walk back to the pavilion, thanks to an exceptional catch by Travis Head.

In the end, it was Verreynne and Bedingham who finished the run-chase for South Africa.
