CSK llamó a Dewald Brevis como resultado de riesgos para Gurjapneet Singh en IPL 2025
Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming dropped a subtle hint on whether the team’s latest signee Dewald Brevis will be a part of the clash against SRH. Nicknamed “Baby AB”, the young Proteas star was recently named as replacement by the five-time champions for an injured Gurjapneet Singh. However, CSK had decided to bench Brevis in their previous game against MI.

Brevis to play against SRH?
Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Fleming indicated that CSK might be inclined to use Brevis as an impact player option. Is is pertinent to point out that CSK has turned their attention towards fielding youngsters in their playing XI after earning flak for their conventional approach in the first half of IPL 2025.
“He’s one of the options that we’ll look at. We’ve got other players as well who have been with us for the whole tournament. Brevis is a good addition to the squad, but we just have to manage what we think would be the best team, given the players that have been working away with us, and also look at the impact that Brevis can have,” said Fleming.
With the Super Kings outfit being one of the worst batting units at IPL 2025, Brevis will surely add muscle and X-factor. His recent showing at the SA20 2025 was superb as well. Playing for MI Cape Town, Brevis mustered 291 runs at an immaculate average and strike rate of 48.50 and 184.18.
