Rohit Sharma retires from Test cricket

India will have a new Test captain. That’s because Rohit Sharma has announced his retirement from the longest format, effective immediately. With India touring England in June, Rohit decided it’s the right time to hang up his red-ball boots. He’ll continue leading India ODIs, which is the only format he hasn’t retired from in international cricket.

PBKS vs MI match venue shifted

In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor by the Indian forces, the BCCI has decided to change the venue of the PBKS vs MI match. Since Dharamshala is just 60 km away from the India-Pakistan border, the Indian government doesn’t think it’s safe for players or the audience to play there. The game will be played on May 11, but in Mumbai now.

After Indian cricketers, it’s the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) and Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA) that received threats. An email has been sent to the two boards, which threaten to blast the stadiums in Bengal and Gujarat. One match venue has already been shifted, and the same could happen with these two grounds.

Have CSK found MS Dhoni’s successor?

CSK have long been looking for a wicketkeeper who can replace MS Dhoni. Well, they may have found the right man in Urvil Patel. Making his IPL debut, the 26-year-old scored an 11-ball 31 against KKR to showcase his incredible hitting ability. It seems at last, Dhoni can pass his gloves to someone who’s as destructive as him with the bat.

RCB & DC announce replacements

RCB and DC have announced injury replacements. Devdutt Padikkal, who was RCB’s second-best batter, has been ruled out of IPL 2025, and Mayank Agarwal has been brought on board. DC have roped in Sediqullah Atal for Harry Brook, who pulled out of the tournament in early March.

No India vs Pakistan matches, says Gambhir

A couple of hours before the Sindoor Operation, India head coach Gautam Gambhir was asked about India playing cricket matches against Pakistan. His answer was a straightforward no. Gambhir added that the decision will be made by the Indian government, but his personal opinion was that India shouldn’t play Pakistan, even at ICC events.
