DC become first team in IPL history to…
DC became the first team in IPL history to not make it to the playoffs even after winning their first four matches. Almost till the mid-way of the tournament, Axar and co. looked like they were very well en route to becoming one of the first teams to seal a spot in the playoffs. They started off their campaign by defeating LSG, SRH, CSK and RCB.
In the next three games, they lost to MI, won a Super Over thriller against RR, only to lost to GT again. After that, they defeated LSG once again. However, since then, they failed to win even a single game. Two out of the remaining matches were abandoned – one against PBKS due to security reasons and the other against SRH due to rain.
With DC knocked out, the four teams that have qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs are GT, RCB, PBKS and MI.
