Desde diciembre de 2012, India y Pakistán no jugaron una serie bilaral para ninguna femática.

Former India captain and ex-BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has called for a complete end to cricketing relations with Pakistan in the wake of the terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam region on April 22. Ganguly, speaking to reporters, made it clear that India should not engage with Pakistan in any cricket tournament — whether bilateral or multilateral — given the repeated acts of terrorism.

The heinous terror attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, has shaken the country. On the sports front, as part of retaliation, the Indian broadcasters have suspended showing any Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 matches. Meanwhile, there are pundits and experts weighing on the debate if India should continue playing cricket with Pakistan.

What did Sourav Ganguly say about IND-PAK cricket

Sourav Ganguly, who himself played 65 international matches against the Men in Green during his time, has remained firm on his stance. He has sought strict action.

100 per cent, India should do this (break ties with Pakistan). Strict action should be taken. It has turned out to be a joke that such things are happening every year. Terrorism cannot be tolerated,” Sourav Ganguly told reporters.

Historically, India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13, with their encounters limited to ICC and ACC tournaments. The BCCI, aligning with the Indian government’s stance, has maintained a firm position on this issue. BCCI vice president Rajeev Shukla had earlier emphasized that no bilateral series would take place unless political relations improve.

Recently, India also refused to travel to Pakistan for the 2025 Champions Trophy, opting instead to play all their matches at a neutral venue in Dubai.
