Gambhir to join Team India soon

Gautam Gambhir will join the Indian team in England by June 17. The head coach had returned home after his mother’s health deteriorated, and she had to be admitted into intensive care. It was reported that until Gambhir returns, VVS Laxman will take charge of the team. But that won’t be happening, as Gambhir will come back to England very soon.

Agarkar to continue as Chief Selector

Ajit Agarkar, India’s chairman of selectors for the last two years, is all set to continue in his role for at least one more year. Agarkar’s 2-year contract will end very soon and the BCCI wishes to extend it. The decision comes after he did a stellar job and due to the Test retirements of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

Samson leaving RR for CSK?

For a while now, people have been posting online that Sanju Samson might move from RR to CSK. With MS Dhoni getting closer to his IPL retirement, the move actually makes some sense. But no one paid any attention to them. However, these rumours might just be true. Why? Because Samson’s agent has liked a social media post that hints he’s switching his IPL base to CSK.

Karun Nair asked to retire

Last month, Karun Nair received an India call-up after 7 years. Naturally, he was ecstatic. But at one time, things weren’t so good. Nair wasn’t even getting regular chances to play in his domestic team. So, a prominent player told Nair to retire and play leagues so that he could earn more money and secure his future. Luckily, Nair didn’t do that and could play against England soon.

Ashwin accused of ball tampering

A scandal has hit TNPL. Dindigul Dragons captain, Ravichandran Ashwin, has been accused of ball tampering by the Siechem Madurai Panthers. They allege that Ashwin rubbed some sort of chemical on the ball while wiping it with a towel to gain an unfair advantage. An investigation is underway to check whether these claims are correct or not.

Gaikwad & Shafique in same team

Indian opener Ruturaj Gaikwad might play alongside Pakistani opener Abdullah Shafique in the County Championship for Yorkshire. Gaikwad had joined the club for a red-ball stint from July 22 and might stay back for the entire One-Day as well. But there is a chance that Shafique leaves before Gaikwad joins Yorkshire.
