Risibih Pant quedó atrapado con la mano izquierda mientras estaba bañando redes el domingo cuando India se está preparando para la prueba 1 Inglaterra

India cricket team vice-captain Rishabh Pant suffered an injury scare ahead of the team’s 1st Test against England. The southpaw was hit on his left arm during training on Sunday, sparking concerns. The keeper-batter will serve as Shubman Gill’s deputy in the five-match series that is scheduled to commence from June 20 onwards.

Pant gets hit on arm during training

The incident occurred as Team India were training at Beckenham on Sunday, with captain Gill and coach Gambhir leading the charge. As per RevSportz, Pant reportedly nearly sustained an injury after being struck on his left arm while he was batting in the nets. The report claims that the vice-captain complained of serious pain and was attended to by the team doctor who applied an ice pack.

Further, the report states that Pant got his arm bandaged and avoided the remainder of the net session to focus on his recovery.

Pant has not been in great form off-late, having had a sub-par IPL season. The southpaw only managed to score one century and half-century each in the tournament, being unable to justify his hefty Rs 27 crore price tag.

He last participated in a Test match in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia. There too, he did not enjoy a good run as he failed to fire with the bat. He was also targeted for playing some loose shots that saw him get dismissed cheaply.

Meanwhile, India’s back-up keeper Dhruv Jurel has been extremely consistent with the bat in India A’s tour to the UK. Should Pant be unable to take field, which is highly unlikely, then Jurel would be in perfect position to take charge.

India will play an intra-squad match with India A from June 13, just before the 1st Test in Leeds. Pant is expected to be alright by then.
