ILT20 se mudó a la nueva ventana para completar antes de T20 WC, evite fluir fluyendo

International League T20 (ILT20) 2025/26 will be played in the December-January window instead of being played much later usually. The move is aimed at finishing the league much before the T20 World Cup in 2026 and to avoid overlapping other T20 leagues around the world. In 2025, ILT20 commenced on January 11 and went on till February 9.

As per ESPN Cricinfo, the move to shift ILT20 to a new window this year is to mainly avoid it clashing with the SA20, BBL and BPL. Additionally, the goal is to also ensure that the tournament is completed much ahead of the T20 World Cup which is scheduled to take place between February-March 2026.

“Following extensive discussions with all our stakeholders, we believe the 2 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 tournament window is ideal for the DP World International League T20 Season 4,” ILT20 chief executive David White said in a statement. 

The tournament’s chief executive further explained that ILT20 being held in the Dec-Jan window will not only allow the league to access a bigger player pool but will also help the players prepare for the T20 WC.

“In addition, we feel that the December-January window will provide the teams’ the best opportunity to access a bigger pool of players,” he said.

Dubai Capitals were crowned as champions in the previous edition of ILT20. They defeated Desert Vipers by 4 wickets in the final to lift the trophy. Currently, there are six teams who are a part of ILT20. They are Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, Dubai Capitals, Desert Vipers, Sharjah Warriorz and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.
