What does CSK need to do, to be able to get over this poor run of form? In the RCB clash on Saturday, the team just about did everything correct in their chase of 214 runs, but fell tantalisingly close by only two runs. At the centre of the valiant effort was 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre, who went bonkers with his 94-run innings in just 48 deliveries; and Ravindra Jadeja, who not only scored only his fifth IPL fifty, but also achieved his highest ever total in the tournament — 77 from 45.
But alas! The team once again failed to chase down a total above 200. In fact, the team had last chased down over 180, close to six years back. The previous instance of them chasing down 180 or more in the IPL, came in 2018, when they beat SRH in Pune.
