In a new development, ignored at IPL 2025 auction, all-rounder Tanush Kotian has been roped in by PBKS as a net bowler, ahead of the KKR clash. The youngster was spotted bowling at PBKS batters on Friday, and was also seen having a chat with spin-bowling coach Sunil Joshi.
Tanush Kotian in PBKS as Net Bowler
All this could be, since KKR boast of an extremely potent spin-bowling attack– with the likes of Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine present in their ranks. Recently, in the last few matches also, PBKS batting has struggled a bit, especially since skipper Shreyas Iyer has managed to score 0,7, and 6 in the last three matches.
Meanwhile, Tanush Kotian has been a force to reckon with in the domestic circuit in the last couple of years, This year, he was also added in the India squad for the Australia tour, after R Ashwin had announced his sudden retirement, post the second match of the series. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he had picked 9 wickets in as many matches, where his economy rate was only 7.44. It is believed that Iyer played bit of a part, in getting Kotian on-board; both play for Mumbai in domestic circuit, and the skipper knows his abilities well.
Last Time When PBKS & KKR Met
Having said that, IPL 2025 has been a mixed affair for both these sides. While KKR has only three wins in eight matches, and are barely alive in the race to the playoffs, PBKS seem to be strong contenders to make the cut. IN their eight matches, they have won five and lost only three. In their last meeting, despite only scoring 111, PBKS went on to defend the lowest total in IPL history, and restricted KKR for just 95.
